NEW HAVEN POLICE AND YMCA PARTNER TO PROVIDE OPPORTUNITIES FOR YOUTH

(1/26/2010) NEW HAVEN— New Haven Police announced a partnership today with the YMCA of New Haven to provide recreational opportunities for young men in the City. Thanks to a contribution of $4,300 to the New Haven Police Department from an anonymous donor, the Department will be able to sponsor a basketball tournament for 80 New Haven men. The tournament will involve ten teams of young men ages 18-23 and will take place on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. This is one of a number of activities led by New Haven Police dedicated to providing positive options for City youth.
